Greek Mythology

Mythology is a a collection of legends about the creation of the world. Like many cultures, the Greeks have passed down myths from generation to generation either orally or in writing. Years ago, the Greeks would gather together every 5 years in Olympia and have contest to see who was the best writer. These stories have been passed on and you might be familiar with some. 


The great thing about reading is that we can build our background knowledge about lots of different things and as we make our brains smarter, we also become better readers. We are able to understand references within a text that we may not really understand if we didn't have the right background knowledge.
